Anyone else going to catch Scorsese's "Shine A Light" in IMAX this weekend?

I'm gonna try to catch it if I'm not working. Sounds like it will be a cool flick! I believe it is also being released in good ol' non-IMAX regular 35mm film as well. Opens Friday the 4th.

I saw the trailer for it on the "Beowulf" DVD I watched this week; it looks pretty good. It's shot at the Beacon Theatre in NYC, so it's a smaller venue and Scorsese knows his stuff, so I 've got high expectations. He did a fine job with "The Last Waltz"
I'll hit the IMAX at the Henry Ford Museum here one of these days; maybe we can get some SMAC'ers to take a filed trip???

My wife and I were going to try and see it this weekend, but the closest IMAX is in Branson, MO, and I don't think they'll ever show it in that geezer town. And yes, I'm a geezer, so I can call it that. I think the next closest IMAX is in Little Rock, AR, but that's a 4 hour drive for us. Hoping maybe there's one in Springfield, MO. Only 2 hrs away...

Well the Stones already had one concert done in IMAX already - The Rolling Stones to the Max.

I saw it at a non-IMAX. If you like the Stones, you'll like the movie; if not, it probably won't change your mind. Concert footage along with interviews from days gone by. Christina Aguilera, Jack White and Buddy Guy each perform a song with the guys. Mick still has a lot of energy.

Just watched this on DVD and it was pretty entertaining, but hey, I like the Stones.

Mick still puts on a good show, Charlie is a ROCK on drums, and Woody is pretty good on slide too. Keef, well, he's Keef, and sort of just strolls around up there smiling, and banging on his guitar. It's impossible not to think of Johnny Depp/Jack Sparrow watching him.

But they sounded pretty good and Scorsese knows his stuff too, so I had a good time watching it. Good to hear them do a lot of the old songs well, especially "As Tears Go By", The Girl with the Far Away eyes" and even Keef singing "You Got the Silver".

I enjoyed it and probably would have no problem watching it a few more times. It's no "The Last Waltz", but it's a very decent concert film.
