Tele-Bar The End Result
I know you guy's are probably getting tired of me going on about the Tele-Bar but I had to post pic's of the finished product. The only thing that I need is a phonograph, the original is really rough with surface rust. If anyone knows where I can find one please let me know. The radio chassis is a 5D2. I also need to stock it full of glassware.
These pic's will also be posted to my web site. I had to turn the flash off to get pic's of the tv working and they came out a little blurry. Thanks again to everyone that helped me get through this project. |

That's absolutely gorgeous! I'm envious.
BTW, when I looked at your pictures, I heard my mother's voice screaming in my head from 1966 (right after we got our "new" B/W console television): "Young man, don't you dare put your glass on that without a coaster!" I was so glad that it was my dad who put the first ring mark on it.

What a combination, that is a real pretty piece of furniture. That would have been a perfect end to a workday, a shot of fine bourbon and watch the evening news.

the phono unit can be found in the bakelite table model phonographs of the period. These are fairly common and one with a broken cabinet should turn up. If this were a few months ago I could've sent you one, but the one I had was traded for a Zenith t.v. so it's gone.

Great job on the restoration. I have a radio/phono combo in storage that looks like yours. It has an RC550 phono changer in good condition, I don't believe there is any rust. It is yours for postage if you still need one. PM me if interested.

Now, if you had pulled that junky old B/W TV outta there, & put in a Fishtank or a flatpanel LCD, that woulda been something....

You coulda done something like this to it. This used to be an RCA CTC19 color TV set. Now an HDTV set. My excuse: The chassis and CRT were long gone, but we had the cabinet stuffed with books and whatnot in the attic.
