Welcome to Texas. I see a lot of TVs on the free part of CL, also Goodwill has a warehouse that's called Bluehanger you might want to check it out there are two locations. As far as the trash I cant help you with that as I don't live in Austin proper, I do think you have bulk pick up. eff

Are you in Austin or one of the surrounding counties? Austin has quite different rules than the surrounding counties. I live in Hays county and do not know of a TV re-cycling program(although I have been looking for one). I do know of a local dump, but they will only take 1 or 2 TVs a month from a household(I would rather re-cycle). This limit is due to an accident a few years back on I35 where many Zenith CRTs(made in Mexico) were destroyed. They ended up in this dump without permission and a lawsuit occurred.
