Omar Little is dead!!

man, this is harsh-- Omar Little, the shotgun toting, 5th floor balcony leaping gay cat with more than nine lives got dropped in a package store with cap to the back of the head by a little 10 year old kid on this week's episode of The Wire. Omar had been wreaking havoc on the Marlo Stanfield's street corner and wholesaling operations for weeks, blowing people up right and left and surviving all kinds of hit orders while running the streets entirely alone.

i don't know if anybody else is tuning in here, but i loved Omar and the depth and complexity of his character, and the actor who played him, Michael K. Williams. Williams is, or WAS, delivering academy award level performances week after week in this role. i really hated to see him go.
