For those of you who haven't a clue...

Leave it to Beaver(early episodes) is one of the most hilarious TV shows ever created.
That Jerry Mathers was magical because inspite of his youth he reads his lines as if they were his own natural thoughts.

Incredible show for those who know what great entertainment really is!

Today Jerry Mathers speaks at universities about the harmful effects of the media on our culture... as if anybody gives a ____.

He would get alot more positive attention from today's people if he would come up with another great product to sell us so we can impress even more of our "friends"!

I never saw it as being all that hilarious. I thought it was more about teaching some kind of life lesson with every episode.
Of course my memories of the show are over 30 years old so I may have forgotten a lot

is on the air regularly here in south Florida. As with all TV shows the later episodes did not have the most clever writing but the earliest ones are incredibly well written. Plus, each actor was perfectly matched to the part.

If I try to give examples it would take me to long as I peck these keys with two fingers and I would not do the show justice.

2 episodes come to mind. One is where Wally is complemented on his very clean neat appearance and so 6yo Beav tries to emulate his older brother.
It's funny from start to finish but one scene shows the Beav at school lunch unusually clean as he starts to eat a banana while his good friend who is dirty, overweight and stuffing his face with a big piece of chocolate cake asks him why he is clean. It was a cute hilarious scene. Don't let me half ass explanation turn you off.
The other episode has the Beav buying his mom a gift which turns out to be a gawdy, tacky French blouse with "Oooh la la" in big letters across it and his mom has to wear it publically to please the Beav.

Most modern teens and kids would be traumatized by watching Leave it to Beaver episodes. The kids in those shows have good manners, are polite, well dressed and don't look like slobs, do their homework and their chores..... horrors upon horrors! You could give a modern kid an aneurism if they thought they were expected to act like that .....

Even teens and kids from the mid '60's up as well are more alike than unlike todays horribly selfish young people. I had a short time of being your typical young, undeserving, ungrateful complete idiot but as a teen I spent more time with healthy adults who got me straightened out.
If shows like Leave it to Beaver were to be enjoyed by the very few untainted youths of today in the company of healthy parents they would have at least one healthy influence.

There were certainly some moments.

One of the most memorable scenes for me revolves around a violin that the Beav acquired without the parent's consent or knowledge, has to be seen to be appreciated.

Can anyone find on youtoob (probably not since they were yanked from airing years ago) the "Ward weren't you a little rough on the Beaver last night" or the " I think I'll stay home today and help the boy's pack some fudge"episodes, or the drunk First ladies White House film clips, Betty Ford passing out face down in her dinner plate in front of the Ambassador of India, or Pat Nixon tripping on the Persain rug under the grand piano and not spilling her martini I saw them at a gay bar in Scottsdale can't remember the name of the place or I'd call and see where they got them. One of the dirtiest lines ever allowed on TV was from "Leave it to Beaver".

"Gee, Ward...don't you think you were being a little hard on the Beaver last night?"

I think one of the most hilarious things about "Leave It To Beaver" was the clothing his parents always wore.

Hands up those of you whose father always wore a suit and ties around the house, or whose mother dressed impeccable in a dress and heels, plus always looked like she just got out of the hairdressers?
