Sears Color Portable

I've had an ad on the ETF site for quite some time, never updated, just listing that I have a bunch of old sets seeking homes. Every so often I get an email. Last month a guy writes that he his looking for 2 sets: a '68 Portacolor (couldn't help him) and a late 60s 15" color Sylvania. Well, I did have one of those. I didn't really want to part with it but since I have another Sylvania color set, and since this one needed some work, and since he really wanted one (used to have one years ago and missed it) I decided to part with it. I decided to swap him even for this set; it's a 12" Sears (Toshiba, thinly disguised) from about 69/70. Not a bad little set; a hybrid with a metal cabinet, seems to be well built. He had worked out some of the bugs and replaced most or all of the tubes. The tint ran out of range before flesh tones were correct, so I adjusted the coil inside. Something is off as I can't get the yellow bar on the test pattern. I'm not going to worry much about it right now. This is my only Sears tube color set.

Hey, nice save! I always had a sweet spot for the early Japanese color portables.

Wonder what it's thinking as it plays the wise-cracking sexual humor of Charlie Sheen?
