Color broadcasts officially started in Australia on March 1 1975. I found a couple of issues of Electronics Australia from that time when going through some old boxes.
The cover of the March 1975 issue. The set is probably a Philips K9, but I can't make out enough detail. The test pattern is from GTV9 in Victoria generated by a Fernseh PC-TV 408 pattern generator. Most other channels used the Philips PM 5544.
Control rooms at the ABC studios at Gore Hill during the conversion process.
A review of the Sony KV-1800AS, the first Sony set to be officially sold in Australia (some companies were grey market importing KV-13xx sets). I used to find these all the time in the early 90s, but I haven't seen one in a long time. I never bothered to keep any as I never did find one with a good CRT.
