Golden Compass, Dr. Who and The Master

I just saw "Golden Compass." I found it very well done, and the young girl who plays the lead is a wonderful actress! She has a great career ahead of her.
Dr. Who fans who have seen the latest Season will recognize that the actor who played The Master when he first comes back, played one of the bosses in the Magisterium.

If anybody cares, the actor's name is Derek Jacobi. On Dr. Who, he played Professor Yana, who was The Master living as a human. Yana stood for "You Are Not Alone."

Yes! I am a Doctor Who fan. I knew Derek Jacobi (Dr. Yana) was in this movie but haven't gone and saw it yet. I can't wait to see the new series. The Voyage of The Damned will have Kylie Minogue guest starring. Rumours are running rampant that Billie Piper (Rose) will be back and so will Martha Jones!!! I can't wait!

Rose is ok, but she doesn't really fight like Martha Jones. Have you read any of the novels based on the 9th and 10th Doctor. They make Rose's charachter nothing but a screamer....the tv show is better. I hope the Sci-Fi Network shows the Christmas Special -The Voyage of The Dammed with Kylie Minogue. I think his partner this year will be the Runaway Bride, at least that's what I'm hearing from my friends stationed in Europe. On another note "Torchwood" is supposed to be coming out in Jan on DVD. Also hear that "Capt Jack" will make a few more appearances. I'm glad to see another Dr. Who fan on board. So I guess I'm not "YANA". :-)

Haven't ready any of the novels. According to the BBC website, Donna will be the new companion, and the new Torchwood season will start in January.

Sorry, I still prefer Derek Jacobi as Cadfael. Good to see me working. I always felt he was way underrated.

Yes Derek Jacobi is an excellent actor. I bought the Cadfael DVD's and loved them. Also of note is in the Golden Compass he reunites with his co-star Daniel Craig from "Love Is The Devil". Pretty creepy portrayal Mr. Jacobi does as Francis Bacon. Would love to have a poster of him as Dr. Yana though...
