Can someone explain Motorola's model designations to me ?

Hi again all !
Can someone explain the model designations for Motorola TV's to me. I have a 17T13 and would like to know just what that stands for. I have seen a 17T9 and it looks almost the exact same as my 17T13 so what do the model numbers mean ?

I know the "17" stands for "17inch" and the "T" stands for "Tabletop" but after that I have NO idea what the last digits mean.

If anyone also knows what models were made in 1951 that would also be a big help.

So once again I come to the experts......can you help me?

I was wondering this myself , there was a 17T3A on Ebay , it also looked alot like your 17T13 . it sold a week or so for 76 Bucks . Nice sets , I like the bakelite cabinets

I believe that last number of the model numbers were just arbitrary numbers given to denote slightly different cabinet styles. The 17T13 may have been a mid-year replacement for the 17T3 that could of had some design changes either cabinetwise or circuitwise.

I have many of the early Moto brochures including 1951 and much of their factory service info. What 1951 models are you looking for specifically?

I was just trying to understand what the last digits mean......There is a 17T9 on ebay right now that is exactly the same as my 17T13 other than some extra gold paint (that I can tell) even the seller has the year wrong...it's listed as a 1953 but it's 1951 all the way.
