Sci-Fi movies of 1957?

Hello Movie fans,

When I was growing up, around 1957, I went to see a double feature. I cashed in some soda bottles to get the 25 cents for the movie. It was "Monolith Monsters " and another blob type film where this thing comes to earth on a space ship that just finished it's mission. The blob like creature looked like a pizza! boiling and got bigger all the time?

Anyone remember the name or have seen this film? It was not the "Blob" with Steve McQueen.

I bought the "Monolith Monsters", great B&W movie.

John.

I remember Monolith Monsters, Lola Albright was the babe, one of the better SciFi fliks of that era.
The other could be The Creeping Unknown (the American title), a British film and part of a series of three Quatermass films that includes Five Million Years to Earth, people have nightmares due to racial memories of the martian spaceship that is buried beneath that part of London.. Literate spooky stuff.

Hi,
Thanks for the info but, I don't think that is the one. It was a separate monster, the ship landed did not crash. I remember a briefcase that had the monster in it. I think it came from a rock sample that the men brought on the ship? I can remember some of the scenes from movie. The blob pizza came out of the attaché case the pilot was carrying when he was being debriefed.
Then it got bigger from there, maybe I closed my eyes for the rest of the movie, HaHaHaHa...I was 7 at the time.

John.
