Nicely carved?? Not sure what kind of wood it is?? No one knows what kind of wood it is either AND the fancy carving on the bottom and front is "early plastic"!!

Actually, I think those had real wood trim, except for plastic raised-panel sides on the cheaper models. That one is a high-end one, also looks to be the first year solid state chassis. The top is veneered photo-finish on most of them, but at least the legs and that fancy front lower thing is real I believe.
