More Proof that Zeniths are Indestructable

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8num0zgsHc
Yet more proof that early solid state Zenith's are indestructible. Failed talk show host/ comedian Tom Green, in a fit of rage, smashes a piece of expensive digital phone equipment with a solid state b&w zenith, while plugged in and turned on. I bet you all know which one survives.

That was hard to watch. I used to have that exact model of Zenith. I had it for about fifteen years, bought it new. It never once had to be serviced and was my main set for years. I was the last 12" black and white set Zenith made. I bought mine in 1987.

From what I know, CRT glass is about an inch thick at the screen area on most solid state TV's. The glass is most likely thinner on smaller and more cheaply made CRT's, but it's still pretty thick.

If I had to guess, it's made to be thick so it won't implode when someone throws something at it, or picks the set up and bashes something with it...

Now, had Tom Green tried that with an older tube TV with the safety panel removed...

Which one is stupider- Tom Green or that arsewipe who's blond & wears the narrow Emo glasses ? Oh, yeah, Andy Dick....Boy, I'd LOVE to say something impertinent right now, but I'd prolly get Das Boot...<grin>
