Maggie for lefties??
Harry has this set on his site. You don't see many sets with the controls on the left.

The photo could be reversed.

That's what I would have thought immediately too... But the "Magnavox" badges are correctly forward.
VERY VERY bizarre! I don't know whether to think it's somebody fooling around copying & pasting with Photoshop, or did some wealthy left-handed person have it custom-ordered? Or no, maybe it belonged to Nancy Pelosi's father. Charles

Certainly there is no reason it couldn't have been a regular production set...just that the custom in the later fifties got to be having the controls on this style set be on the right. Maybe someone can dig out the Sams for this model and check out the photo.

This is weird! I never would have thought of this until it was brought up. I have sets from nearly every decade and the controls are always on the right. Well the new crap seems to always have controls (buttons) on the bottom.
I was just thinking that I have NEVER seen ANY set with controls on the left. It could have been a marketing scheme of some sort. After all it makes the product stand out. Thats for sure.... |
