The Legend of Billie Jean

This is THE worst movie you will ever see. None of this Caddyshack2 or Battlefield Earth crap. And it is on this this sunday at 10:50am on Encore channel. Set your VCRs. Here's is an capsule review...

"Throughout it all, she only wants the $608 to fix her brother's scooter, and an apology from Mr. Pyatt. Lloyd helps Billie Jean make a video of her demands, and before she makes the tape she cuts her long, blond hair into a crew cut as a sign of her rebellion. By the end, she sets fire to a carnival, throws the money back into Mr. Pyatt's face, screams "fair is fair" one more time, with the coupe de grace being subjected to Pat Benatar's "Invincible". Grossed all of 3 million dollars."

...An' about 5 yrs ago, it played almost constantly on HBO...Thing of it is, I thought Helen Slater was moderately foxy & a decent actress in "Secret of My Success".

Legend of Barfy Jean

Ah, yes! An incredible pile of tripe. However, I have fond memories associated with this flick.

At the time it was made, I was living in Corpus Christi, Texas. A lovely (but sleepy)" Sparkling City By The Sea". This is the official moniker of CC. It sits on Corpus Christi Bay, very close to the Gulf Of Mexico, but guess what...... NO SEA!

This Fillum, which is pretty bad, but I've (and You've) seen much, much worse, was filmed on location in CCTx. It was A Really Big Deal to have a movie shot in town. The time frame (era) -The fabulous 80s. I'm too lazy to look up the date- I'm sorry, I'm so, so sorry.....I'm NOT sorry! HaHaHaHa. (Pee-Wee Hermann)

The thing is, there is a scene where a large crowd turns out to support Billie Jean( Helen Slater, quite the dish ) at a beachfront rally or something. A promotion was held thru the local rock radio station to provide a large crowd of BJ supporters. They offered free haircuts for the young ladies-IF they accepted an official BJ 'do.This was a weird combo of Dennis The Menace cowlick, Mohawk, whitewalls, and Dog the Bounty Hunter braids! So for months afterwards, you would see these gals running around with chopped-up hair! Too funny..... anyway the movie takes me back... I had a lot of fun while I lived there! So, check it out if you haven't seen it-the scenery is cool, anyway.

Later.......willhowl

I think "BJ" was sposed to get us all hot 'n' bothered about Injustice, Eeevil Businessmen, Yeardley Smith having her First Visit from Aunt Hortense, but all I wanted was for the whole kit 'n' kaboodle to stumble onto Jason Vorhees & some of his ilk & all be impaled...

Some kinda modern day Joan of Arc bent to it, as well, no?

Reminds me of the movie "Tough Turf" with James Spader, for some reason.

Actually, I think Jason part 5 came out right around that time. You're right they should've combined the two!

While is certainly is a stinkeroo, I don't think that "Legend of Billie Jean" is even close to being the worst film of all time. It's actually kinda entertaining if one overlooks the stupid plot turns. Compared to something like, say, "Benchwarmers", BJ looks no worse than extremely mediocre.

If it were made today it would be one of those "straight to video" movies or something cleaned up a bit and shown on USA network.
