New Series: Masters of Science Fiction

There is a brand new Science Fiction series on ABC. It’s called Masters of Science Fiction. Each show will have it’s own plot and characters. I caught the first episode and it has a Twilight Zone feel to it. From what I’ve heard, it will cover some very well known Science Fiction authors. Stephen Hawking is the host.

It airs at 10PM Saturdays on ABC.

I watched it, but as close as I paid attention, I was unable to figure out just which Master of Science Fiction wrote the story that Judy Davis and Sam Waterston portrayed.

Of course once I googled it, I had the answer...

I wonder if that is what they intended?

Of course that's when I spotted the fact that the third episode is based on a Robert Heinlein story.

And they finish off with a Harlan Ellison short story.

It's probably loosely based on the Masters of Horror concept.

10 PM on a Saturday is about the worst time slot imaginable. ABC couldn't have buried this series any deeper. The web site says there are only four episodes made so the window to see it is very small.

I saw it Saturday night - nice HDTV presentation - pity its not mainstream enough to survive -
but I'm just glad they did it for us off-beat SF viewers who like dialog and classic story presentations.

Just got the new HD TIVO so I'll be working that out for the next 3 weeks!
