Murder on the Orient Express
Watched this last night with the Mrs. I'd read the Agatha Christie book, but never had seen the movie. I really enjoyed it, and what a lineup:
Albert Finney ... Hercule Poirot Lauren Bacall ... Mrs. Harriet Belinda Hubbard Ingrid Bergman ... Greta Ohlsson Jacqueline Bisset ... Countess Andrenyi Jean-Pierre Cassel ... Pierre Paul Michel (as Jean Pierre Cassel) Sean Connery ... Colonel Arbuthnot Anthony Perkins ... Hector Willard MacQueen Vanessa Redgrave ... Mary Debenham Before the movie, it was explained that Christie wrote this back in the 30s, but wouldn't allow the movie to be made because censorship rules would not allow the movie to portray certain parts of the book (presumably the murder). That's why it wasn't until 1974 that the movie was made. JD

I must be getting old and senile- I thought Peter Ustinov played into this movie somehow.

That was perhaps the 1st "big" movie I went to where I sat still long enough to get fully into the plot.
I saw it on release with my mom @ 13.
