First ATSC Portable TV Available
Here's the link: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1171058029518
The battery life (100 mins) is not great but it is built-in rechargeable. This is a good begining and a hopeful sign that the portable TV will live on. I have been wanting an ATSC portable but I will wait a while to see what other brands become available and what the actual user reviews have to say.

Ah yes, but remember the cost of the color portables back in the 90s? especially the early backlit sony LCDs. 200 dollars easily and the screen was smaller than that!
You definitely pay for portability.

They also have a 5-inch portable LCD digital TV for $150.

That's only about twice what a decent NTSC color LCD TV with a TFT screen goes for. I wonder how well it works for mobile reception and what the battery life is like?

ATSC is pretty poor if not useless for mobile reception, but then again, NTSC was almost always lousy in-motion as well.

I have tried two of these and my other analog sets will receive 10 or more VHF/UHF stations withit's built in antenna. The Insignia will receive 1 vhf station very poorly and out of the two I have had I have never seen a digital broadcast, just NO DIGITAL AVAILABLE. It does produce a good picture when plugged into analog cable but then, whats the point?
