Anyone watch the "Unit" tonight??

On the CBS series "The unit" tonight, there was a subplot(aside from the usual military main plot--this time involving a liasion between an Israeli soldier and an American one--and the trouble that ensues when the discover some homicide bombers), wherein one of the wives of the soldiers came into possesion of a VERY rare coin, some kind of "double minted" one, from 1921 I think--and it was worth over 100k, to the right buyer. Being from the typical military family, this woman and her soldier hubby are NOT rich, actually the opposite, and thus--this windfall could help them greatly.

As the tale goes--the woman debates a great deal as to "whether the money is hers or not", and after deciding to give a lot to her friends and even the store who unwittingly sold the coin in a military patch, she decides to sell it. A coin"dealer" looks at the coin, carefully examines it, and offers her 87k CASH on the spot, stating that he needs "some time" to get the money together. She agrees, and he hands her coin back to her, carefully wrapped to "protect it", telling her it "should not be handled, as the oils from skin would damage such a valuable piece. he then places the wrapped coin in her purse and leaves.

After deciding how to disperse the money, she then gets one of her male friends to accompany her to make the transaction, for obvious reasons. Upon reaching the place where the "dealer" agreed to meet with the cash, she finds it closed and the "dealer" is not in sight. Then, she gets her coin out, and unwraps it....

ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THE "DEALER" HAS REPLACED IT WITH A PIECE OF JUNK!!

She then LAUGHS about the who thing, as the scene ends...knowing she has just lost 87k!!


So..if something like that happened to anyone here--and they lost out on 87K in that way--would LAUGHING be the response??

I do NOT think it would in my case....

Plus the relief that the "burden" of the morality decision was off her shoulders.

But I was IMMEDIATELY suspicious of the situation, and as the coin was handed back to her, in my head a voice was screaming - "CHECK IT"..........

REMEMBER the FIRST coin dealer ALSO tried to rip her off too!!

I was yelling at her to check the coin when the dealer gave it back to her,
but I guess she couldn't hear me through the television.

I saw all of those "other" coins on that table of his--and I had a BAAADDD feeling that he was going to try and switch it--bit I thought it would be for an "ordinary" coin like the other one--WITHOUT the double mint-worth about 1k. instead--he put some kind of slug or such in wrap..

But thinking more..I wonder if it is over..or not??

If i was a con man,I would NOT want to PI$$ off the wife of a soldier in the most elite unit in the US, and so--I wonder if there will be a follow-up of some sort.

Remember--in that one episode, Molly threatened to send over a couple of the "boys" to that couple trying to cheat that one woman out of ehr kinds, just to get the child support money.

THIS is a MUCH bigger incident of cheating!!
