picked up an RCA "AccuColor" console

Picked up this nice 1972 RCA console yesterday. It was actually on ebay with no picture and little to the description. I asked about photos when the auction started but didnt receive any. The auction ended jan 25 and forgot all about it as I never received photos until just yesterday morning. The people (original owners) who owned the set lived in south suburban Crete, IL.
The son of the original owners was selling it for his parents. They didnt want to throw it away. It was put into the basement back in 1985 when it was replaced . The TV still worked when put down there as the "basement TV". Luckily it was a clean finished basement and was in a non smoker home so its pretty clean. It does show some wear and use, but overall very nice.

Its a CTC-46H, 1972. Its an "AccuColor" with the tilt out control bin which I always liked. However, for me as usual, I find another RCA with the missing model tag. Big pet peeve of mine. Missing model tags drives me nuts. I was able to identify the model by getting the tuner models off and matching that to a set that used a CTC46H and had a "W" at the end of the model as its a danish modern walnut cabinet. Only one set matched up, so it must be a GQ669W. The field service guide doesnt give actual model names to many of the early 70's sets. I can't be upset though, when I was a kid I actually remember tearing off the model tag of our 1981 rca colortrak console. So I don't even know what model my childhood TV was. The guy I bought if from probably tore the tag off this set when he was a kid. Just the way it was I guess.....

It has "instant on" as the crt filaments are always going. original CRT is not too good , blue and red guns pretty weak, strong green gun. I can tell it works great though. You can adjust the screens to get a somewhat decent b/w picture and has good color. Im looking to find a new 25VABP22. Hopefully there should be some out there. One of my favorite RCA cabinet styles. BTW, the CTC-46 is a 100% solid state chassis. 1972 is also the last year of the "1960's" cabinet and control panel design. 1973 consoles were totally different in cabinet design with the newer squared off control knobs.

Hey Doug, I got one of these Accu-color Solid State CTC-46 models with radio and phono, the TV part looks exactly like this. Have no HV and I disconnected the flyback lead from the tripler and do not seem to be getting any indication of HV from the flyback.
I'd really like to sometime find a CTC-39 version of this set as I think they were made in the exact same cabinet with the 25V CRT but with the tube type chassis.
