Nice advertisement, the same TV that I have in collection, this TV crossed the Atlantic Sea a few years ago. Are there many Philips TVs sold in Canada? The European Philips are completely different, in Canada its own local production which is only delivered there.

There was some Philips sets, but I haven't ran into too many and I haven't seen anything after the early to mid 60's. I'm not sure when they stopped making electronics in Canada though. The later stuff (late 60's early 70's) I have seen was made in Holland.

Most of the big brands of the US market had factories in Canada. General Electric sold a lot of sets here in Canada as well as Admira, RCA, Zenith, Philco, Crosley, ect.

Electrohome was a big Canadian player in the electronics market in the 1950's and was only sold in Canada. They had the contracts up untill the early to mid 1960's to build sets for Eatons department stores with their Viking brand. Later Eaton's switched to Admiral.
Marconi, Fleetwood, Rogers-Majestic, Sparton are some other Canadian only sets that were never marketed in the United States that come to mind.

The Fleetwood brand in the US sold a intirely different line of televisions than Fleetwood of Canada.
