If only garage sales with that kind of stuff happened where I travel.
I would say you got a bargain considering any one of those by itself is worth restoring.

If the 7JP4's are good in the small sets then they are worth several times the purchase price each and you have a set that could be restored, if not then you basically have parts sets, it would cost quite a bit to re-tube them, find CRT's, knobs, backs etc.
The larger CRT would also be worth several times the $25 but with the base cap crunched like it is it's doubtful. You will need to find someone with a working set to test the small (7JP4) tubes, very few tube testers can accurately test that tube, the bigger tube (12LP4?) can be tested with most any CRT tester. I certainly wouldn't have hesitated to give $25 for the lot though.

I thought we all started out as goopy sludge, and then slowly over time became more crusty.
 I think the TV's were an ok deal. Hard though to speculate unless you're up on the TV collecting hobby. Of course there are desperate people buying "as is" items on ebay, so anything's possible.

What is it that thing with disappearing knobs. I never saw that 30-40 years ago. Every old radio that was in the thrifts always had the knobs on it. They were seldom stolen.
Now, the knobs disappear one by one. I saw a radio that I was interested in, in an antique shop. I told the salesperson that the price was a little high, as the knobs were missing. She said the seller had removed them so they didn't disappear. She had them in a bag behind the counter.

As odd as it may sound, that goopy sludge will chip off of the glass (carefully) with a razor blade or similar and the residue will come off with water. No harsh chemicals needed, water does the job.
The replacement masks are available for about $42 each and are a perfect match.
