I can honestly say i havent watched more than ten minutes of her show, ever. Those ten minutes are just accumulated time, the time it takes to change the channel.

So no, i didnt watch her last show.

For shame
The correct answer to your question is: Yes, there are actually real men who watch her show, real educated men who love real women in fact.

I think it is fair to say Jerry's show helps to "dumb down" some people but I suppose it helps some to realize how they should not behave. He is obviously very smart to find a huge audience to make many millions. I guess it is true that no show is perfect for everybody.

My personal opinion I do have much respect for Oprah, especially for the fact she stays true to her word when she makes a promise!!! An Aussie lady name Megan who was a fan of Oprah met up with her in Hawaii and gave her her business card saying to Oprah if she comes to Australia to contact her and come over for dinner with her and her family. And during her Aussie tour she actually did attend to her dinner and embraced the Aussie way of life, this article tells the story in great detail http://www.neoskosmos.com/news/en/Ta...alia?page=show . Also I came across this article too of Oprah being down to earth and embracing the Aussie culture drinking a VB with the average Aussie blokes at a backyard barby http://www.news.com.au/entertainment...-1225969843923 . So to my opinion she is a real open person who would mingle with anybody and I think that's good, and I agree on the fact that her show's aim is to help people improve their lives for the better in every possible way and I think that's good!

I personally don't really watch her show religiously as I generally watch vintage TV stuff I find on my old videotapes or science/technology programs but have seen the odd few episodes and parts of episodes here and there and I think what she's doing is good. One show that did interest me was on Martin Luther King as I saw a nice high quality piece of QUAD B&W footage of his famous "I have a dream" speech back in 1963 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weEb9S6YyQs and I taped it, however I accidentally taped over it and have kicked myself for it hahaha lol, surprisingly I've only found kinescope footage of it on YouTube. I don't think I'll likely be watching her last show for the above reason but if my mum happens to watch it or if I see it on someone's TV and the subject matter is of interest to me I will watch it.

As for the Jerry Springer Show, it has entertainment value as in being good for a laugh but I can't help but think the people who go on there to have a whinge and cry over each other followed by a bitch fight instead of settling things peacefully are being totally pathetic and are not going to get very far in life slagging and beating each other, all they do is waste their own energies, personally I wouldn't even give those people the time of day while they are like that!!!

Right after I made my comment about Wendy O. Williams and the Plasmatics, I looked up the video of "The Damned" and I stand corrected. She doesn't run the bus through a wall of tv sets. She runs it through TWO walls of tv sets. I'll have to watch it again, as we had at least a 1964 Philco console, although most of those looked like table sets.

i have really no opinion of oprah.she is not a part of my life.glad she has some loyal fans, but dont need to worship her.the one i really dont like is maury povich.his show makes heros out of women who dont know who is their babys father.testing 10-15 men for paternity.when they are exonerated, then maury hugs the mother and assures her that they will help her find the father.she doesnt need help.she needs to abstain or use birth control.one women proudly proclaimed,"read the results and run me my money".results-you are not the father!19 different men tested,no father.he response,"i know who the father is.he s dead.i will get my child on social security".maury is a new low.jerry is a notch above him.maury knows better.

I'll give you my take on Maury Povich.

Most of his guest are either trailer park trash or housing project trash. If they wouldn't **** everything that comes along, they might know who their baby's daddy is. It's just a way for them to get on national TV and have their 15 minutes of fame because they sure wouldn't get it any other way. And, to think they removed RTV in order to replace it with shows like this and all those stupid damn courtroom shows. When I complained to the station owner, he personally agreed with me; but, said that RTV was not getting the positive ratings from viewers that the station had hoped for. So, they had to replace it with programming that would boost ratings. He added that the new programs had already received more positive reaction from viewers than RTV ever did. Oh well, it just goes to show what kind of people we have in society if they'd rather watch this kind of garbage over decent programming.

Regarding Oprah, even though I'm not a fan of her show, I still have respect for her. She came from nothing and made something of herself. The main reason for my first post was a reply to all those who think Oprah is God and if Oprah jumped off a mountain, some people would do the same just because Oprah did it. I can tell you that if someone held a gun to my head and gave the the choice to either watch Maury or Oprah, I'd watch Oprah.

You mean male feminists.
You are funny and I like that!

I mean real men who are not only legally married but real men who are legally married to real genuine women. I am sure that the main reason anybody does not appreciate Oprah is because they do not know or have time to learn the facts. I respect she is human like us all but I appreciate the way she conducts herself in general to set a good example for others to follow on top of doing alot to educate all sorts of people about all sorts of worthwhile things.

Maury's show seems to do less than what it should do for others. It is pretty sad for the kids that will see their parents on his show but maybe it helps people think to not behave that way.

How about Steve Wilkos? I think he does a good job as far as what can possibly be done to try to get through to the hardest heads around. Many people just don't respond to respectful truths and logic, so, maybe his approach is all that can maybe help some hard heads. However, I suspect on occassion an innocent may be falsely accused and have his life ruined on that type of show.

Yes, I remember Sally. I also remember Phil Donahue, along with Montel Williams. I can't say that I'm saddened to see any of them gone.

I also remember when Scooby Doo (the late '60's "good" version) and He-Man came on in the afternoon, after school. That would have been in the '83-'85 time period. Then, all the talk shows started taking over and that's pretty much all there is now.

I will admit that as a kid, I liked to watch the first generation of "Divorce Court" that had the older man for a judge. Back then, I thought it was pretty funny. As an adult, I probably wouldn't think it was so funny.

I think the reason many here don't like such shows is that most of the more popular personality's here clearly grew up in situations of good neighborhoods and or with good parents and relatives who instilled proper good values for them to be generally very good people who were essentially isolated from most of the ugliest situations that large majority's have suffered through that naturally makes it hard for them to be such "good" people who are so above the low-level sorts seen on these shows.
So, it is no surprise that the fortunate majority here sees little to no value in these shows. All respected research indicates these shows, crazy as they may seem, do much more good than harm in educating peope about problems and presenting possible solutions.
I like Dr. Phil too
