Our vacuum cleaner used to make our Sylvania Superset change channels. However, the TV never took revenge on the Hoover.

I had a 19" Zenith CCII that used a mechanical clicker remote. Once I fixed the TV, I stuck it in my Dad's basement woodshop (I was about 14 at the time). The first time my Dad turned on one of his saws, it turned on the TV. When I got home from school, I had to explain to him why his saw was able to turn on the TV.

That looks a lot like my '68 Maggie console.

The Magnavox turned out to be a very nice find. (thanks Josh!) It appears to have been manufactured in March, 1969 and looks to have all original tubes and still works! I had to replace the cut cord and that was it.
Another note, the "quick picture" switch was in the "on" position still! Either the set spent a lot of time unplugged, or the original crt is really tough!

Nice to see that the picture tube is still good on an instant-on set.

Hey, a color Maggie from '69 is NOT a bad thing! Very nice.

It pays to have a little pickup truck.

I just saw the halo around the CRT and knew it was old. Brought it home hoping that an AKer would want it. Feels good to know I saved one from the jaws of the trash truck.

That Didn't suprise me that it still worked. that particular chassis was really well designed. the only weakness that they had was with bad solder joints & some of the tube sockets that were mounted on the pcb's were prone to deterioration.
