My first New Years resolution....dump cable (after basketball season, of course)! $62 a month with no pay channels is nuts, especially since I would only miss a few channels, none of them Viacoms.

Cable companies better start offering ala carte menus with significantly lower rates, this recession isn't going away anytime soon. Even if things improve, people are learning how to save money and are watching their spending.

I've been experimenting with a DTV converter box and an outdoor UHF corner reflector and can get about 30 over the air stations so far, from a lot farther away than I thought possible. I do have to upgrade my internet capabilities though.

Happy New Year!

Not all cable companies are the same. I get great service from TW and their broadband is way faster than any DSL offering.

As for those channels listed, I will not miss any of them.

I just checked a few minutes ago, and Comedy Central is still there so I guess they got some deal worked out.

They worked out a deal. I like VH1 Classic and Palladia, I don't watch any of the others.

Actually I found out that all Comcast Cable customers will not lose these channals.

Only other cable companies will lose these channals
