Now that I can see the socket on the rear, it looks more like that is a input for a microcomputer, probably at TTL level. However, it's worth checking to see if this will "just work" for RGB at PAL/NTSC (whatever the set does). It probably takes combined sync, and you would input that at Pin 4 on the DIN socket as per the schematic.

You might be right, that's most likely what it's for.

I've had a look at this example of an RF only Sony set, looks to be a similar setup to my TV so it's an example to follow. I want to do both S-video and composite through a SCART connector. I'm most likely receiving the optocoupler PCBs and parts next week.
