Waterman S-14A Pocketscope Find

[mike685s]

Another old piece of test gear has appeared in our thrift shop; a Waterman S-14-A Pocketscope. Several years ago Bob Anderson restored the Philco version of this scope and it was quite a job. I do not collect old test equipment so I do not plan to restore this device, but I did power it up to see if it still works. The scope powered up just fine and the display on the 3RP1 is bright and clear. It focuses properly and the initial deflection tests indicated that all parts were working properly. The switches appeared dirty (not a surprise) and will probably have to be cleaned thoroughly. I have a copy of the original manual which can accompany the device. I know the CRT alone has value but I hate to trash the device for the tubes. If there is interest in this group I will be glad to send the scope to the interested individual for the cost of the shipping from Arizona. Please contact me through this group
