Tra Vler brand made by RCA?

Was the Tra Vler brand black and white television made by RCA?

My parents bought a 17 inch upright console in the mid-fifties and it was labeled Tra Vler. Never saw a connection to RCA.

Booklet says "Images courtesy of RCA Corp." Doesn't mean they were made by them though.

Trav-ler was sold by small dealerships and dollar-down and dollar a week furniture stores. They were about the same caliber as Olympic and the other lower end makes. They also built some private label products.
IIRC, they never built or sold a color set.

Trav-Ler was a budget brand, not made by RCA. Dieseljeep is right.

I only remember some made by Admiral. But this
is Canada, is the logo the same as US ??

In the later 50's they bought the left-over inventory when CBS Columbia quit building radios and TV's.
They put a paper sticker over the CBS logo on the back. Heat from the tubes dried out the glue and the label fell off. A decent hand wired AA5. Better than the PC board competition.

I have a VTVM I got at a hamfest stamped, "Property of Travler Color TV Department," so they at least did some work towards one of their own.

In later years (60s-70s) they sold imported stuff, including some color sets. I've seen some of them while digging through stacks of Photofacts. Always cheap stuff.

And usually a hot chassis too. No matter how big the tv set. Stereos usually cheap too, some hot, 50C5 style amps. .

It puzzled me, when I saw a label on a 1935 Philco radio that stated: Philco Radio and Television Corp. Philco didn't make a television receiver, for sale, until several years later. A few others had the term "Television" in their firms name as well.
