He replaced the cap, a major job in itself, checked the rest of the tubes, cleaned the tuner and controls, re-installed the chassis, did a thorough degaussing and a complete convergence and purity set-up. He delivered the set back home and gave it a final in-place degaussing.
And the set ran good as new.
