IIRC, Europe uses COFDM for over the air broadcasts of digital TV, and the USA uses 8VSB. We have reception problems as it seems that 8VSB reception is rather fussy. Now, if you can get every local and DX station broadcasting in COFDM on a rusty coathanger, then....

Heard that Australia will be converting to digital and dropping analog, but not sure when.
