Wall-E. Thoroughly enjoyed.
A mobile trash compactor that boots with a Mac OS9 tsunami chime, and a flying iBook that fires FLIR missiles. Too cool, Steve!

Robert Altman's "Jazz '34".
I taped this off a PBS broadcast, and am so happy I did because it never made it to dvd. This recreation of Kansas City's Hey Hey Club and others has everything a jazz lover could want. And, when run through a pair of Fisher XP7s and a pair of Jensen JT-4As...aahhhh |

Blindness with Julianne Moore. A virus starts to make people blind. More intense and horrific than running zombies.

"The Good Shephard":Illuminates a character who was central in the formative years of the CIA.
"We Italians have our family and the church. What do you have?" "We have the United States, the rest of you are just visiting."

Doubt.
An amazing Oscar nom worthy performance (again) by Meryl Streep to be sure. Some stars (and lets face it, Streep is a STAR, not just an actress) never seem to be able to shirk who they are from one movie to the next. I barely saw Streep in this role, just the role she was playing.

The diving bell and the butterfly...
This is a true story about the guy who founded and owned Elle fashion magazine. Later on in his life he had a stroke that basically left him a vegetable. He learned to communicate with people by blinking one of his eyes. By doing this he wrote an award winning novel. This movie was based on his life after he had the stroke. This was truly a great movie that I would recommend to anyone. One of the best movies I've ever seen. |

"Slumdog Millionaire"
Excellent story!! Definitely not what I expected (no friends have seen it,and I really didn't listen to all the hype at Oscar time).

Murder, My Sweet. 1945. Staring Dick Powell, Claire Trevor and Anne Shirley
This is a classic thriller with Dick Powell playing the part of private detective, Philip Marlowe. Recommended. Thank you San Jose Public Library for the loan of this disc.
