"Talk To Me" with Don Cheadle. Very good period piece, fine acting all around. Does he ever do a lousy job?

"Ray"
I don't have very high expectations of Hollywood movies, but this one really surprised me! I was blown away at how Jamie Foxx really channels Ray Charles. And to know that Ray was involved in the making of the film really adds weight. It's been about 5 days and the film is still with me. Just a really impressive piece of film making.

Friday night my wife and I watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall

FREAKIN hilarious at times.. a really great movie...

(guys, just cover your eyes at the beginning, we don't need to see the Monty, but my wife sure seemed to enjoy it saying they never give women a thrill)

I watched Sling Blade on FMC last night. I always liked this flick. Dwight Yoakam plays a really good asswipe.

Charlie Wilson's War. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is great in that.

Recent movies... Cabaret last night, streamed from Netflix. Good, but my G/F was the one who wanted to see it because she's in a community theater production of it soon. She wouldn't STFU through the whole thing, which detracted somewhat.
Mission Impossible (0.99 iTMS rental a couple of weeks ago). Watched it myself, nice escapism, not too memorable.
Wizard of Oz, stumbled upon it on TV. A classic!

Wild Hogs
Tim Allen, John Travolta, William H. Macy and Martin Lawrence. Frankly, I wouldn't have thought that there could be any comedic chemistry amongst such a disparate group of actors, but those guys made it work. Academy award calibre this film definitely was not, but it was worth 90-odd minutes. (But then again, anything with Marisa Tomei is worth watching. Hell, I'd watch a 90 minute film of her shopping for groceries)

My wife works at blockbuster so we can rent movies the week before they come out on video... "Wanted" with Angelina Jolee was sorta entertaining... certainly not as good as all the hype about a non-stop action movie and I'm not a fan of movies with special effects that are blatent and obvious FX. I like action movies where you dont notice the effect but are watching the movie.

Slumdog Millionaire

An incredibly well-done movie. A "must see" if you like an excellent story in a beautifully, dare I say brilliantly, executed film.

And see it in the movie theatre -- it deserves a large screen!
