19AP4 Sub??
For those of you who haven't had any luck locating the elusive 19AP4, check this out. Under "Parts, etc. for sale", The 18" CRT might actually be a 19DP4, which is also a 66 degree tube like the 19AP4. It will take some ingenuity to install it, also requires additional room, as it is a fatter tube.

Elusive?
Seek and ye shall find! I needed a flyback and yoke for the Motorola set, I tried Moyers. At the end, Bill asked me if I needed anything else, and I said 1/2 jokingly I *could* use a 19AP4. Anyway, if it's in good shape and tests good, I'm picking it up next Saturday... |

John -
Thanks for the tip. I don't have any 19-inch roundies, so this thread didn't start off interesting. But the other tube, the Farnsworth "160", caught my eye. I wrote the guy and we made a deal and it's now in my living room. There are no markings on the base or neck. Doesn't appear to be the usual RCA or GE or Sylvania product. One sticker says "Farnsworth Polatron", and "product of Dreyer Laboratories". Now I gotta figure out what Farnsworth TV had a 16-inch round CRT... and are there any survivors. Otherwise the CRT will have to settle as a "conversation piece". Fun...

How well did the tube test?? I'd be very surprised if nobody jumps on that other tube. If that's a 19DP4, someone might be able to use it in place of a 19AP4. There are a ton of 19" Dumonts out there alone. I knew where 3 NOS 19DP4 CRTs were, and they went in a hurry... 2 went to Dumont owners, the other went to a Hoffman owner. |

Well, the 19AP4 is mine!
It was NOS - the box wasn't even opened. It was delivered to Moyers eons ago and just SAT on a shelf (!). It tests perfect, and is in perfect shape. It's even got the original, Sylvania warranty card

$125. I had to pick it up myself though. Not that I hate driving out to bumf*ck PA for it, but anywhere in that state's a 3 hour drive it seems...
