You can tell me if I remembered correctly...I'm not particularly perceptive and tend to nod off sometimes if the movie is dragging, but this one held my attention. I've always liked sci-fi and it was fun to compare this one to the 70's version. I thought the scenes of deserted NYC were pretty cool, as was the portrayal of the mutated humans- basically humans with rabies...

Untraceable
Starring Diane Lane, about an FBI agent that investigates internet crime. Pretty entertaining. That's what I want from my movie rentals. Entertainment. After a hard week, the wife and I like to order a pizza and sit down in the 70salesguy Colossal Manor Home Theatre and "be entertained". Of course, I send the butler up to the local Bi-Lo grocery store to get a movie from the DVD Xpress machine for .99!

The Golden Compass
Wasn't bad if you like fantasy. I could see why they were making such a big fuss about. At first i didn't really understand. To me I look at it as a good old fantasy movie. Kinda like Star dust or Eragon. |

I caught the last half hour of "The Third Man" ( from the big wheel and the "cuckoo clock" speech) this morning on TCM.
Wow!! I gotta see the whole thing. Breathtaking cinematography and film noir, plus Orson Welles fleeing through the sewers of Vienna; can't beat that with a stick.

Forbidden Planet
Excellent movie, looks great restored and in wide screen.
There needs to be a Blu Ray release of this, it was already on HD. |

The Other Boleyn Girl on Friday night. Pretty good if you like history, stars Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johanssen. I thought it was done well.

Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?
This came on tv and we watched it - again. This is such a hysterical movie. The Coen Brothers write some great one liners in this one. Plus, you can't beat the Soggy Bottom Boys, live and in concert !

ditto here. not bad, definitely not the best. too @#$% much overuse of CGI and greenscreening led to a few rather artificial looking scenes. sound was pretty good; they actually laid off of the excessive THUMP and BUMP with this movie. gotta give lucas respect for that
