Before I plunk down my hard earned cash, I have a couple of questions. What is the advantage of buying the 5 disc set?
And what is the box (briefcase) made out of? Is it metal?
The briefcase is a heavy plastic. In the Ultimate Set, disc 5 contains the rare pre-release Workprint which is essentially another version of the movie containing all of the scenes before editing. As I mentioned before, the Ultimate Set also contains a rare art folio, a lenticular film clip and a couple of toy figurines (speeder car and unicorn). Yeah, it's gimmicky, but if you're a hardcore fan then this set is right up your alley.

The four disc set is just that, a four disc set that does not included the pre-release Workprint. Choose your own price point.

Cheers

More importantly, the 5 disc set (with or without the briefcase) has the "final cut", which I like better than the earlier versions. Interesting deleted scenes too. Available on BD/HD DVD as well as DVD. This looks FANTASTIC.

I got the 4 disc set for Christmas - it has the new Final Cut as well as the earlier 3 releases. The only thing it DOESN'T have is the Workprint version, which apparently is also new for this release.
Plus you don't get the plastic collectors box and all the toys.
Me, I just wanted the films!

Anyone care to run down the four disc set's contents?

I believe it's the Director's cut, and the original theatrical release, but the other two- what are they?

And how many versions were released, total? Was it four cuts of the film total, that made the rounds?

Of course Deckard is replicant! I thought the directors cut made this pretty clear, with the origami unicorn at the end of the flick?
