Nice looking Sony. We have a KV-1915 at work with the same button layout as your KV-1923. Those two bottom buttons could be assigned to whatever you desire. They are adjusted just like channels 2 -13 you show in the pic. You open the door and behind it you'll see a knob or thumbwheel (the KV-1915 uses a thumbwheel, my KV-1946R at home used a tool to turn a knob).
This knob or thumbwheel fine tunes the selected channel range that you can select by a 3 position switch close to the thumbwheel. This switch selects the channel range. Far left would be 2-13. Middle would be 14 and above.I don't recall how far that middle selector goes. The far right would be the upper channel range, again, those numbers escape me.I don't believe they go to high.Maybe someone else knows exactly. Each pushbutton switch on the front of the set has it's own set of switches and thumbwheel/knob adjustments.Hope this helps and is what you're asking.

As a sidenote. The channel designations you see on the front could be changed by inserting another number into the selected slot. Problem is, those numbers are generally lost.
