The reason I ask about vert convg is because my aunt bestowed a early-to-mid 90s RCA ColourTrak (a GE chassis judging the OSD menus, and front buttons) on my grandma.... the picture is absolutely blurry (they told my grandma "IT LOOKS PERFECT LOL") even with Sharpness at max. It also has a bit of shininess in high-contrast areas, and the classic red-orange smearing/out of convergence smearing. Where would i start with this one?

Hi again. On the colortrak, There should definitely be a clearly-labeled Focus potentiometer on the crt neckboard or on the flyback itself. If its bad enough so that the focus control has hardly any effect, The crt is weak, or you have lost focus voltage (more unlikely, however). As for converging, you are forced to play around with the yoke magnets, since these sets only have provisions for static convergence. I highly doubt the service menu includes convergence. Maybe someone else knows? I, too have seen many people enjoying a set with a terrible picture. Most don't even care anymore. My aunt's RCA 25" has bad focus too and she won't let me adjust it because she fears I'll "break-it". lol.
