To me, Good Will Hunting seemed to exaggerate it a bit. A bit. The boys were real Boston fellas anyhoo. Just seemed to slightly go overboard, over -the-top...

The departed seemed to get it better. More local boys in that 'un.

But I gotta face it, to me, sadly, Bostonians have the worst accents of all the states.

And I'm born and bred here.

I like Gilliam's work, but I'd rather he slept in.
I got that impression too from his introduction, but what was his "awakening" specifically? I certainly couldn't tell from the movie. I guess it is my puny mind not grasping it (it can't be the confusing mess of the movie since it is perfect). Overall, I would give it a C-. Definitely not an F - there is way too much talent there & the movie is not incompetent. It is the worst movie I've seen by him, but I haven't watched the Brothers Grimm yet...

I just find them amusing - they're so over the top. One thing about my southern accent though, I can go up north & have the girls falling all over me (or at least I could 15 years ago).

Sothern charm with words like "Recon", "ma'am", and "howdy", vs northern brashness with "Wicked", "pissa", and "ya dude".

Half listened to the commentary

The only thing interesting I remember is that he said that women "get" the movie more than men do. I kinda doubt that - not sure if there are any female AK'ers that will weigh in on this. My wife was at work when I watched it & she has no interest in watching it on her own. Oh well.
