I think that was the case with this TV, I had another Sony remote that worked but wouldn't talk to this TV. I only dread to think what a new remote cost for that set.
Thats why I only collect Zenith, Durable, Fixable, Affordable, Great Picture and Beautiful Styling!

Although I am partial to several Panasonic mini B&W TVs from the 60's Logan
