Looks like a leftover Capehart/Farnsworth cabinet from 1948/49. The odd layout of the TV and radio makes me think it's a custom/home job.
It'll probably get bought by an audiophool for the audio components. Chuck

It does look like a Capehart 500 series, but I don't understand why they would have swapped out the audio components. The Capehart was a much better unit than that Fisher chassis I see in there. The Capehart had a huge amp with either four 2A3 outputs, or four 6L6s.
That cabinet could also be a Magnavox. Just not sure.......... Charles

Looks like it to me too. Wish I could get a hold of it, but Las Vegas is on the wrong side of the continent. Whomever made the "upgrade" put the larger TV where the radio was, and the radio where the TV was. Probably either wasn't room for the Capehart radio, the Capehart Radio was broken, or most likely, the whole "upgrade" was done by a Fisher dealer.
Shame the original 501 chassis had to hit the dumpster, but I guess they pretty much all did.

I just noticed the photos (added later???), showing the rear. That's a Conrac Fleetwood TV chassis, and a fairly valuable Fisher power amp; an 80AZ maybe? I still am not 100% sure it was a Capehart, or a Magnavox... I've restored a Capehart 500 TV chassis for a fellow here in SoCal, but I just can't remember the details of the cabinet. The TV was a 10 inch, and I think it was basically a late 40s Emerson chassis. It was 15 years ago. Does anyone have a photo, or the actual set, of a Capehart 500 series?

Thanks for the link on the Capeharts... It sure looks very close! But not identical. I'll agree on the idea that it's a Capehart 500-series for now, but not ruling out Magnavox yet.
Another idea is that since Capehart bought many of their cabinets from John Whitticomb (spelling?) in Grand Rapids, maybe Whitticomb also offered a line of bare cabinets for custom jobs? Charles

I asked the seller for more photos (of which he posted a couple). I was hoping to see a capehart tube-layout diagram pasted inside the cabinet. No such luck. It's either not there, or it's under one of the "add-on" units he's got hanging in there.
I agree, there's some great audiophile gear in there too. Hopfully it won't be bought for that, and then the cabinet anf funky old B/W TV set stripped and dumpstered.

I see a brightner on the CRT!
Since it's probably a Frankenset anyway it wouldn't be a terrible tragedy to remove the guts, the Conrac should be saved too of course but the value is fairly minimal. It might be neat to leave the Fisher and install a Plasma or LCD set in the cab and have a HD home theater with tube sound!
