Outstanding movie! I think it was the last film to win the big 3 Oscars until Cuckoo's Nest came around. The hitchhiking scene is a classic.

Picked up "Victor/Victoria" from the library the other night. Good film, bu hard to believe it's 20+ years old. Robert Preston is sensational.

3:10 to yuma, good flick

Shoot em up - lacking on the plot but lots of shooting for sure. Chock full of cheese ball lines and mediocre acting. Just a great mindless shoot em up

Gone Baby Gone. Pretty convoluted plot and a questionable ending but all those South Boston characters were huge fun. And the actress that was nominated for this deserved it, IMO, over Tilda Swinton. So you know, I'm a big Tilda Swinton fan. Her next flick is again with Clooney and directed by Coen's. I've seen most of her work, I think. She big time now!

A couple of mostly unappreciated favorites . . Montana with Kyra Sedgewick and a bunch of choice actors. Black comedy with plot twists and double crosses galore. Thick As Thieves with Alec Baldwin and a bunch of choice actors. A movie that keeps on giving! Character rich with funny, funny good lines. The director gives it a unique motion. Original, and totally under appreciated.

"Miss Pettigrew Lives A Day"-Frances McDormand,Amy Adams, and a wonderful supporting cast in a light comedy/drama set in London right before the start of WWII.Skilled, fairly witty, and hits you a little harder than youd expect.A lot of fun.

"The Bank Job"-Jason Statham actually acts a little in this one.Ive always liked him as an action hero, but I enjoyed him just as much in this caper film based on the true story of the Loyds of London robbery in 1970.Not great, but involving and fun.

"Vantage Point"-Much better than the critics led me to believe.A tragic event is retold from several different perspectives, each segment adding a new piece of information.I found it very enthralling, with a great car chase near the end.

Watched 2 yesterday.

1. Gone Baby Gone - I thought it was great - makes you really think - what would you do?

2. 30 Days of Night - Great Vampire flick! Gotta watch it at night, big screen, lights out!

Prompted by Arthur C. Clarke's passing, I broke the shrink-wrap on my as-yet-unwatched copy of "2001" on LaserDisc, and watched it with my pooches lazing on the couch. Delilah was unimpressed and slept through most, Olivine really seems to like Strauss and dislike computer malfunction 'beeps'. Maybe it's because my wife's a science teacher, so we watch a lot of 'space' documentaries.

Saw it in the theatre, my kid and I are long time Wallace and Gromit fans. I nearly wet myself laughting when Wallace turned into the were-rabbit.

The box set's of shorts are also too damn funny.

Watched Wolfen Saturday.
X-files typle flick I hadn't seen in 20 plus years. Albert Finney as a cop who figures out that New York has a Were-wolf like subculture. It's a little choppy plot wise, stunning cinematography.
