They said due to the age deterioration of this certain part, it might cause a fire. If Sony will ever say what this part is, people who are good with working on TV's should be able to just change the part out for a new one unless it's a special part.

I know my '84 sony Trinitron has a slight convergence problem in the lower left hand corner of the picture. It might need a new convergence block?
