Question about back panel of RCA FGR2020W ColorTrak 2000
Hello,
I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to these old CRT's. Can someone explain to me what all these do exactly? This one says " Audio Output Dual Dimension" I'd like to know if I can just connect standard RCA Audio Connectors to it or do I need a special connector? https://i.ibb.co/qNXgb40/Audio-Output.jpg This is the back panel of RCA FGR2020W / RCA Colortrak 2000 Can someone explain what all these do exactly? A/C Switch due? what adjusting the BIAS and Drive does? Service Switch does? https://i.ibb.co/NL2mDPN/IMG-20221111-144710.jpg Thanks for any help. |
The RCA jacks just plug into the AUX on a stereo. It probably had
fake stereo hence the name. Cant quite read the others but at least 5 of them are related to setting the picture "gray scale" to get a good B&W pix. You NEED a good B&W pix to get a good color pix ! If you can find a manual on line it will give the procedure. 73 Zeno:smoke: LFOD ! |
The service switch collapse’s the vertical sweep. It is used to set up proper grey scale adjustments. Unless you have a manual and tv experience I would recommend leaving them alone. The audio out RCA are just standard RCA jacks. No special cable is needed.

Not sure about the AC switch, but if the set was a remote set the AC switch might completely kill power to the tv. Remote sets always have some power running the remote circuitry. The switch would kill all circuits if off. I’m just guessing as I don’t really know what the switch does on a ColorTrak.

AC stood for "automatic color". Sort of an auto tint and color intensity mode. I always left them turned off.

I had a Sony KV-2648R that had a master power switch that I would turn off when gone on vacation. It would kill all internal power to the tv. I think some remote brands even had a switch labeled “vacation”.

It would kill everything. Useful so that it wont get hit by lightning & no dog tags etc would trigger the set on. I remember them on Zenith remotes for a few yrs but they were not right on the AC input like the JA sets. Zeniths killed the remote rec. but not the instant on for the few years they used it on SS sets. 73 Zeno:smoke: LFOD ! |
Didn’t the Colortrak (2000?) use I/Q demods, like the CTC-2 did?
