It's road side rubbish collection time again here, and that means more TVs. So far this is the only one worth mentioning.

A Siemens Bildmeister FC 399 26" delta gun. Picked it up just in time before the heavy rain hit. The control panel has been pushed into the cabinet, but otherwise it's in reasonable condition at least physically. Briefly powered it up this morning and it's horizontal output stage squealed at me in protest (it doesn't like being awoken at 5:00am anymore than I do).

The horizontal output transistor is intact, so my first guess would be the tripler, though I've yet to investigate further. The green tripler appears to be a replacement type that I've often found bad in various other sets.

Plenty of dust and crud. A couple of boards are looking a bit crispy. The CRT is an RCA A67-150X. The back cover has a little flap to access the convergence controls without removing it.

wow! i think that is 27" bacause the CRT is A67

It is the same as one I have acquired recently.
I'm constantly being surprised at the unusual sets that occasionally turn up still.

Beautiful set, really! Does it have provisions for an ultrasonic remote control?

I don't think this one has the remote control, or at least the sensor isn't obvious. I haven't had a chance to have a good look at it since I took the photos (unfortunately my back is currently paying the price for moving all these sets around by myself).

That Siemen uses the Blaupunkt KC chassis & that set you have got has no remote, The remote version of the KC chassis used to have buttons on the front to control the various main functions such as volume, colour & brightness.

The chassis has got an thyistor horz o/p stage. you will find that there are 2 thyistors used, 1 to do the trace & the other to do the retrace.

This set was typical of all Europien designs in the mid 70's sold in Australia & the set also has a phase controled power supply which means if the hook the thing up to an isolating transformer, the transformer will get very hot after a short time due to the DC going back up the mains & causing the transformer to saturate.

I used to play with these sets around 20 years ago so I have learned a little bit about this beastie.
