Fate is the Hunter (B&W Glen Ford/Rod Taylor thriller based on Ernest K. Gann)
Spellbound (Hitchcock classic)
The Castle (Aussie fun)
Raiders of the lost Ark (as seen in a movie theatre in 1981 before any of the weak copy cat films where ever thought of)

I enjoy too many movies to cut it down to a top five, but these would be my favorite five after a hard nights drinking but for some reason I can't get to sleep, in no particular order.

PS I wouldn't put "Fate is the Hunter" in a top 5, but it IS a good movie!

Honorable Mention - The Original french version of Beauty and the Beast. It was actually the first talkie movie and was just an amazing movie for its time.

You can leave off - Gone with the Wind for me. To me, it is over-hyped and none of the characters in the movie are likeable.

Ohh, the Third Man- I love that movie. Haven't seen it in years. That would make my list. Citizen Cane too. High Noon. Charlie Varick. Bad Day at Blackrock. Tough to do this- and yeah, I'll change my mind too.

Oh hell yes! IMO there have been 3 great movies about the movie business. Sunset Boulevard, Get Shorty and The Player.

...yeah Blade Runner and The African Queen are both great flicks. I can name five and then think of five more that should be on the list and...

2. Fried Green Tomatoes - Real men like this movie but when asked, will deny it.
3. Bride of Frankenstein - Classic
4. Godfather II - Better than I
5. Casablanca - This movie bombed when it came out.

1a. Smoke - with John Hurd. - Rent it.
2a. It's a Wonderful Life.
3a. The Unforgiven - One of the best westerns IMO.
4a. East of Eden - From John Steinbeck - James Dean at his brooding best.
5a. Halloween - The first one.
