I purchased a Toshiba that happens to modular design as older zeniths, and xl100s. Definetly competing with USA sets of that time. Does anyone know of these?? :dunno:

Overall built very well, look at that flyback, similiar in construction to 50s American flybacks. High quality parts used overall, tuner has metal gears. Pic tube says--BLACKSTRIPE-- a form of black matrix tube?? Toshiba made TVs with this label at least until the 80s. I believe this was their TV model introducing this type of CRT or close. Any AKers with this set?? Date code of 1976. Here's a picture of chassis with IF module removed, Note the hefty HV tripler mounted above Fly.

those were common in the mid 70's
its an inline slotmask black matrix tube.
the feedthru pins get bad solder joints on those.
resolder them ALL.
btw what brand is the led watch?
i have a bunch of them myself.

Thanks for info!! I bought the TV working, has LOST picture & sound, just gets static in speaker with blank white raster, even with strong cable signal hooked up. TV cabinet isn't damaged but TV didn't take kindly to journey through the mail. All module contacts were gently shined, then buffed with soft towel until produced mirror shine, with modules reinserted, still didn't help. Any Suggestions?? :scratch2:

The watch IS a repro, still a throw away though, no future service offered on watch if ever needed, do you know of repair center for new LED watches???.

look at the board and note pins soldered on both sides.look at the modules too.
resolder every single one of them from both sides.
as for led watch repair i do that too.
had to open my syncronar to replace its nicads.got lucky that they hadnt leaked yet.
coated the new ones in plasti dip as extra insurance.as rare as these are you dont take chances.
