I am willing to give $200.00 working or not (but must be complete) RCA VICTOR table model color tv similar to this one pictured. Most will either be a ctc27 or ctc19, im looking for this basic cabinet style. PM me if anyone has anything like this set.

My Uncle had one just or nearly like that back in the late 70's early 80's

I remember it because he had the back off permanently and would fiddle with the convergence constantly trying to get it right.

Doubt he still has it though.

I have two that are very similar if not the same as this. These are complete. A black one and a white one. One has cataracts, one does not One has been wet as it was in a storage unit and the roof blew off. However, the case is not rusty. The other has never been wet as far as known.

Both have metal cases.

Otherwise the condition is unknown.

These are free if you can arrange pickup or shipping or arrange to meet me somewhere in Texas. I live near Austin and have a pickup truck with topper.

The ones that I have are heavy as if they have power transformers.

If you are interested, I can take digital pictures.

I have one of those sets. It did kinda work( raster), before 9-11-01, but it has not been fired since then. It is buried in my storage area, by a 19" zenith ,of similar vintage.

Let me know, if interested.

I think it also kinda works. It is in front of the rca ctc-27 or 19, portable. I got both of them, at the same time, over 2 years ago.It is a transformer-powered set, probably a 16z8c19, or similar.

I may be willing to part with BOTH of them.

A picture of the sets, or a dead snake?

BTW, I only recently noticed that kc8adu's avatar was a snake! For the longest time I thought it was a crushed capacitor or something! I think it's cause the background isn't focused, like those pictures you're supposed to stare at.

big demand for baby boas.

So in theory, it could crush a capacitor?

Sorry.

I have pictures for these TVs available. However, they seem to be too large for this website. Please email me if you are still interested in them.

I had an 18" console version of this set once when I was a kid. It had a surprisingly good picture considering how little I did to it. I sold it to one of the neighbors for $5 for their kids to play video games on, then got it back when they moved. It got donated to a thrift store eventually. I would eventually like to get the table top version, but not until after I move.

YOU GOT IT!!!!! Thanks a million for picking that up! Thats a ctc27 for sure.
As a note for all those who have these sets, Im intersted in all I can find, so this doesnt mean I dont want yours!
kc8, is there any possible way I can meet you sunday at the hamfest? Its the only possible time I can make it up there.

Thanks!!

Your pictures help. If I didnt see a picture of it it would have been hard to find.
Before anyone ask the check is not a finders fee or for the set just on a previous transaction.

i will not be at ft wayne sunday.it is usually a waste of time and i do not have lodging reservations.there are several local ham operaters going along and they will not be staying over either.
do you have anyone you know that will be there sat?
it looks like the label got torn off the back cover.

I have a wooden cabinet for a CTC19 if you could use it. The kind that sits on the floor. No chassis or CRT. Located in bergen county NJ (just outside of NYC.

Looks very nice! No problem, I cant argue with someone fixing a tv for me! Looks like the crt is strong. Tv must have very few hours. One thing, I have not heard the term "screwdriver drift" Is this more or less control adjustment? As for those 6GH8s, did you need to change all of them:D
Thanks-Doug

kc8adu
11-13-2003, 05:01 PM
screwdriver drift is an idiot turning adjustments trying to "fix" it
i didnt remove the back.the hue is off untill it warms up so get out those 6gh8's
might have some marginal filter caps too.

The tv probably worked when it was put out for sale at the resale store. Some little kid was probably messing with the controls when it was on the sales floor, I see it all the time around here. Ive got plenty of gh8s, about 20 NOS. Im hoping escr will be at ft wayne as thats where I get my tubes from. Lots of hams at the fest sell compactrons dirt cheap as they have no use for them at all. Last year I got 10 6HA5's for $5, a common zenith fault. Im out of those already.
Looking forward to saterday
