It's been a dry season at the local thrift stores for televisions, but I found a Zenith System 3 with Space Command ultrasonic remote at Goodwill the other morning for the grand sum of $4.99. :banana: The label on the back is dated Dec. 1980.
A good cleaning later and a fresh battery for the remote, it's up and working with a bright, sharp picture.
This is the first set I've ever seen with motorized tuning; it's neat to watch it whiz past the blank channels.
Also learned something else. I was trying to figure out why the cat went nuts when I used the remote - a Google search later shows that cats have hearing up to around 60 kHz. I'll have to make sure he's not in the room before I change channels. Anyone else ever see anything like this?
