Added a new addition to the stable today. I had heard of the Philco Miss America sets but had no idea there was a Miss Canada set until today and see the pictures below. It is in super nice condition and the guy I got it from says it works, we will see. Check out that speaker!

That set uses the 7L70, one of the best performing chassis of the era, among the top 3 in my opinion.

Miss Canada looks chunkier than Miss America. :scratch2: :D

So I can look forward to a great performing set! I had a quick look at the chassis last night and your right Don, that is the chassis number and it is super clean, seems a little strange as they are most times covered in dust. It has a replacement crt with a sticker that says the warranty expirers in April of 1966. I haven't tested it yet but will get to it soon, still working on my Capehart 610.

I forgot, I left out the best part. I paid full asking price without a question, $20. They said they had been trying to sell it for months without a single person asking about it.

I just checked the CRT on the Miss Canada and it came right up to 80% with good cutoff, should make a good picture. The previous owner said it worked so I put the watt meter on it and powered it up, it looks good. It has full raster and sound and all controls seem to work ok. Its still out in the garage so haven't put a signal to it yet but will as soon as I can get it in the house and give it a go.

A 1958 ad from Philco Canada showing that year's "Miss Canada" model. Also available was the "Miss America" model.

I like the 58' cabinet, I will have to watch for one of them as well.
Thanks Steve
