That's a neat little set, and reliable (outside of the chronic leaky coolant). Watch out, as it tends to drip onto the main board, and cause shorting/burning. What color did you find? Those came in various colors; white, gray, black, granite texture, and even pink.

Is there a picture of the set posted in the first post? I can't seem to see one with Firefox. :sigh:

No signs of any leakage, but I'll double check the green, even though it doesn't appear to need a coolant change.

The sides are gray on this one.

You might have lucked out... I think about 90% of those sets sprung leaks when they were 4 or 5 years old, and many were replaced with upgraded tubes. They were expensive... About $1300 repair bill on a re-tube job. I did a few of those, and also the KP-4110, which used the same tubes.

I use this to protect aluminum aircraft parts from corrosion. Apply ALODINE 1201. This chemically alters the surface metal to prevent corrosion. Preclean with Alumiprep 33 or Metal Prep 79, then thoroughly rinse with deionized water. Apply the Alodine without dilution by brushing or swabbing with sponge. It's very effective. Of course, it's not common to use airframe maintenance techniques on consumer TV's, but this is one place you may want to consider.
