Curious if that Spacemaker's like mine. It's dated 5/88 and has a pretty decent picture.

The spacemaker is a July, 1988. It originally came with an under-cabinet bracket that swivels. It has sentimental value to me because we had the same model in my kitchen growing up in Brooklyn.

Here are some pics excluding the 8000 and 1212 which are in the garage still, for a cleanup and adjustment which these have already had.

The KV-1543R makes an incredibly good picture after grayscale and convergence adjustment....connected to digital cable. In fact, I was doubting whether or not this set had an IR remote system because two of my Sony universal remotes refused to control it. The cable co's remote works fine with it though. This tv has a photocell-brightness controller function (which I have turned off, i hate them) called "Photosyncopator" or something...

The Spacemaker is sadly tethered down by my converter box but the crt is strong and it too looks nice.

The XAM had a short vertical so I simply re-set the linearity and moved the centering magnets on the crt neck a bit to fix it.

The Linytron works well and is just cool looking with the modifications.

Yep! That's the Spacemaker I have. For $1.91 I just had to. Now someone just has to make a battery-powered portable DTV box to use with sets like this.

Yep. An ATSC converter box on batteries with the optional GE battery back that goes on the bottom iirc would be nice...could be done I guess depending on the box but, i doubt it would be worth the time

I found a SAMS folder from late 1972 for a Philco-Ford 12" b&w tube set 3LB2 or something that is electrically identical to the XAM/ Korvette's set right down to the 12vawp4 crt but the cabinet on the xam is much cheaper than in the ford's photos to me.
